hoopers hoop!
Team Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, a club basketball team, was founded by University of Arizona Wildcat Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and his uncle, Erik Hood. The team is led by head coach Anthony Smith who served 5 years in the U.S. Navy. They stand out not only for their dedication and commitment to the game but also for their passion to improve the lives of youth through athletics and academics. By establishing Team RHJ, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we aim to provide opportunities to children from underserved and underprivileged areas. We aim to showcase their talents in front of elite scouts, increasing their chances of receiving college offers across the United States.
Based in Arizona, Team RHJ has traveled throughout Arizona, California, Las Vegas, and Oregon to gain exposure and elevate our students to the next level. Our program presents these young athletes with opportunities that might otherwise be out of reach.
The costs involved are significant, especially for children and families who may lack the financial resources to join elite sports clubs. We actively pursue funding through sponsorships, donations, and personal contributions to keep these opportunities accessible. This enables us to compete outside of Arizona and establish Team RHJ on the map at prestigious basketball tournaments across the United States.
